The musician, producer, and multi-instrumentalist responsible for the projects Chromatics, Desire, and Glass Candy, as well as the composer of soundtracks for series and films such as Twin Peaks, Drive, and Bronson, is back in Portugal. The reunion will take place at Casa Capitão in Lisbon on November 13th, marking his solo debut in the capital. Johnny Jewel is a well-known name to the Portuguese public and one of the most tireless artists of the last two decades. Founder of the groups Glass Candy and Desire, as well as the label Italians Do It Better, the American was also a member of Chromatics, to whom Jewel introduced vocalist Ruth Radalet, who would go on to sing the band’s biggest hits.

In 2008, he made his film debut by writing, composing, and recording the soundtrack for Bronson, by Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn. Three years later, he collaborated again with Refn on Drive, starring Ryan Gosling, once again composing and recording the film’s soundtrack. Among several projects, Johnny Jewel also appeared in the third season of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks as a member of Chromatics, in a scene where the band performs live in a bar.

Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Johnny Jewel was instrumental in transforming music and film, giving prominence to the synthesisers and drum machines of the 70s and 80s, creating nostalgic and dreamy atmospheres that paint a kaleidoscopic landscape that has become one of his trademarks.

Live, Johnny Jewel performs the themes he created for all these iconic films and series, not forgetting his solo catalogue, which already includes six full-length albums. The musician brings his unique concert to Casa Capitão in Lisbon on November 13th, making his first solo debut in the capital, following a stint in Porto in 2023.
