Jonas presents new fado “Jacarandá” and reveals the release date of his debut album
“Jacaranda” is Jonas’ new single that is now available on all digital platforms.
It is the second advance of the Lisbon fado singer, who, gradually, asserts himself as one of the most interesting voices in Portuguese music, with his compositions that find harmony and balance between timeless chords and contemporary feeling. Jonas is a choreographer, dancer, performer, singer and fado singer, in a multidisciplinary path. In “São Jorge” he reveals his genius as a lyricist and composer, leaving no one indifferent to his vision of the world.
The theme “Jacaranda” is the result of two unfinished sentences that Jonas gave to several life companions, «I was born to…» and «I’m going to die for…». The result was lists of existential phrases that laid bare the goals of life and legacy that each person aspired to. These lists of phrases full of life, memories and desires give substance to the composition of “Jacarandá”, a theme full of memories of the author himself but also populated by memories that come together in a story that could be that of an individual, but in the At the end, the stories touch and sometimes we realize that we are living a common story. “Jacarandá” thus has the power to immediately belong to those who listen to it with attentive and delicate ears.
After “Proverbio ao Contrario”, “Jacaranda” is the second theme to be known. Both are part of the debut feature, “São Jorge”, which will be released on June 18 on CD and on digital platforms. With production and mentoring under the responsibility of Jorge Fernando, a historical name in Portuguese music and, in particular, an essential part of Fado.
On the 8th of July, the album “São Jorge” is presented live for the first time, in concert at the Central Square of the Centro Cultural de Belém. Tickets are available in the usual places, with limited capacity and respecting the recommendations of the DGS.
