It is the long-term debut of the Lisbon fadist, who gradually states as one of the most interesting voices of Portuguese music, with his compositions that find harmony and balance between timeless chords and contemporary feeling.
Jonas that counts on a multidisciplinary route as choreographer, dancer, performer, singing and fadist. Now reveals his genius as a lyricist and composer, not letting anyone indifferent to his vision of the world.
In “São Jorge” we have seen the presentation of the universe of musical and literary composition of Jonas, which over the last decade was registering the perspective of a citizen who dwells the Lisbon of the Séc. XXI.
Using the composition tools of the ancient fado, the author has no modesty in employing foreigners or profanity to underline crudeness, if the theme so requires. But above all, the primary function of fado is evidenced as a storyteller, providing the listener a parade of images with great proximity and vividity.
In your musical composition, Jonas has come to impregnate your fate of sonorities that originate in other territories and do so whenever you feel that the song thrives. A classic fado quartet – composed of two Portuguese guitars, viola and double bass – root and finish all the sound of an album that had the music production of excellence of the singular Jorge Fernando.
