Jordão presents Fado Cantabile
JORDÃO releases Fado Cantabile on November 1st and presents it live at the Casa da Cultura in Setúbal today at 6 PM. In an intimate performance, the audience is invited to enter the artist’s “musical room” with an immersive sound proposal in a constant dialogue between the Double Bass, the Piano, and Sound Design.
Fado Cantabile symbolizes a familial Ode where the compositions depict birth and childhood, family concepts, and emotions that are important to highlight in today’s frantic environment, featuring as a single the song “Fado Cantabile,” a poetic composition in an emotional tone, like someone singing sweetly.
JORDÃO thus presents an original repertoire that celebrates traditional and contemporary Portuguese music in new soundscapes with pieces, songs, and emotional atmospheres, accompanied by Eduardo M. Jordão on piano and João Hora in sound design.
Biography
Eduardo JORDÃO began his artistic studies at the Orfeão de Leiria with an introduction to piano and later studied double bass at the Lisbon Conservatory with João Panta Nunes among other training with Carlos Barretto and Zeca Neves in electric bass at HotClub Portugal.
During this training period, as a musician, he participated in numerous recordings and collaborated on a wide range of artistic projects such as Corvos, Penicos de Prata, Uma Coisa em Forma de Assim, Sara Paço, Não Simão, BuscaPólos, Juvenile Symphony Orchestra, Camarata Albert Lissy, among others.
He collaborated with Cláudio Hochman at the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, Daniel Schvetz and Rui Rebelo at the Teatro Villaret, with Ricardo Neves-Neves at the Curtas theatre festival with “Solene Resgate,” at the Trindade theatre and Meridional theatre with “Menos Emergências.” In the area of performance, he worked with Ana Borges, Maria João Serrão, and Cristina Delius and participated in television series such as “Sol de Inverno” by Patrícia Sequeira, “Odisseia” by Gonçalo Waddington and Bruno Nogueira, among other appearances.
JORDÃO released his first single under his name in 2022 to celebrate Portuguese music with new scores and sounds.
Alongside his musical activity, he trained in business management and completed various courses in Event Management and Production. He has developed much of his activity as a programmer, executive producer, and stage manager for events, festivals, and cultural projects, notably the Artes à Vila festival, Setúbal jazz festival, Jazz Minde, Lagoas Park, art exhibition for the Biennial of Cerveira at the Mosteiro da Batalha, Paredes de Coura festival, Gulbenkian Foundation, and Womex Porto showcase Day.
