The Brazilian singer was the last of a list of great names that EDP Cool Jazz took to Cascais, great concerts, fantastic nights, at Parque Marechal Carmona, a night that Francisco Gomes Trio and Jéssica Pina had the task of warming up the public to Jorge Ben Jor.
With 60 years of career, and many successes, it was no surprise that I published that he abandoned the chairs at the first chords, to dance, sing and let himself be infected by the joy that came from the stage.
The Brazilian musician had a full venue, on what was the last day of the festival, an enthusiastic audience was traveling through the work of this fantastic author, in ‘Oh, nada mais!‘ and ‘País Tropical‘ was accompanied by the audience in chorus as they danced and jumped.
Before this concert, Francisco Gomes Trio took several of his songs to the park, where you could have dinner, refresh yourself with a drink or just sit on the grass, in a hot late afternoon, and then on the main stage, Jessica Pina, sang, played her trumpet and enchanted, “warming up” the audience for the star of the night, Jessica recalled that this year she was on the main stage, but also on the park stage, and thanked EDP Cool Jazz for all the support she had and the support to other new values of Portuguese music.
A memorable night, which ends another edition of EDP Cool Jazz, a great festival, where John Legend, Murta (see our report), Paul Anka, Mimi Froes (see our report), Yann Tiersen, Miguel Araújo, and Rui Veloso, Diana Krall, Jordan Rakei and Moses Boyd.
