Jorge Jesus starts Libertadores with a victory

Two goals from Éverton Ribeiro, in the 7th minute, assisted by De Arrascaeta, and in the 79th, after a pass from Michael, sealed the triumph.

Gabriel Barbosa wasted occasions to score earlier, at 52, 53 and 65 minutes, but Junior could also have reached the tie several times, namely by the ex ‘lion’ Téo Guttiérrez, who failed at 45 and 59 and ended up scoring in last play of the match, at 90 + 5.

The Portuguese coach’s team, however, ended up prevailing and adding the three points, equaling Independiente del Valle, who, before, won the Ecuadorian duel against Barcelona de Guayaquil by a clear 3-0.

Panamanian Gabriel Torres opened the scoring in the 55th minute and, after the expulsion from the local Mario Pineida, in the 81st, the Argentines Christian Ortiz, in the 87th, and Cristian Pellerano, in the 90 + 5, from penalty, sentenced.

In addition to Flamengo and Santos, the two clubs in Porto Alegre, Internacional (3-0 at Universidad Católica, with two goals and an assist from Paolo Guerrero) and Grêmio (2-0 at América Cali), also won, who lead Group E.
