Jorge Palma, composer, performer and outstanding pianist, will perform at the Cine-Teatro Paraíso, in Tomar, on the 23rd of October, at 9.30 pm.
His path needs no introduction. Over more than 40 years of his career, he has released numerous original records, composing hits and earned multiple golds and double platinum records with ‘Voo Nocturno‘. His work contains songs as transversal as ‘Frágil‘, ‘Deixa-me Rir‘, ‘Dá-me Lume‘ or ‘Encosta-te a mim‘, real timeless and inter-generational hymns that have a captive place in the history of Portuguese music. The most recent period in Jorge Palma’s life is also marked by great activity, in which projects such as ‘Together’ stand out, in which he shared the stage with Sérgio Godinho, and also the celebration of ‘70 Voltas ao Sol‘ at Castelo São Jorge, in 2020, in a show with a chamber orchestra directed by conductor Cesário Costa and with arrangements by composers Filipe Melo and Filipe Raposo.
In Tomar, Jorge Palma will perform as an acoustic trio, accompanied by Vicente Palma on guitar, piano and voice, and by Gabriel Gomes, who offers the sound of the accordion to create truly intimate and special environments around unmissable themes of Palma.
The concert is part of the Locomotiva Sessions program, a cycle created by the agency and cultural producer Locomotiva Azul. Tickets will go on sale soon at the Cine-Teatro Paraíso ticket office.
