As part of the 100th anniversary of the League of Combatants
Carried out with the support of the City Council of Lamego, the 3rd Medical, Psychological and Social Support Conference will take place, for the first time, in the city of Lamego. Taking place within the framework of the commemorations of the centenary of the League of Combatants, the event will have as its main theme the medical, psychological and social support provided to combatants and their families.
On October 8th (Friday), the Ribeiro Conceição Theater will receive another edition of the Medical, Psychological and Social Support Conference, organized by the Liga dos Combatentes with the support of the Municipality of Lamego.
With the purpose of marking the 100th anniversary of the League of Combatants, these days are held with the aim of providing a moment of meeting and sharing between all participants, where the work developed over the years will be made known, but also intends be an opportunity to discuss the gaps in medical, psychological and social support among combatants and their families.
Composed of four panels of speakers, the Journeys begin at 8:30 am in a first debate dedicated to “Medical Support”. Fernando Reis, a former fighter from the Overseas War, will make an intervention dedicated to the theme “From the past to the future”, with the participation of guests José Andrade, João Hipólito and Margarida Ribeiro.
After the opening session (11:00 am), the second panel will follow, under “Apoio Psicológico”, moderated by Ana Teixeira, psychologist and member of the Portuguese Psychologists Association. The debate table will be joined by speakers Odete Nunes, Catarina Gonçalves and Inês Maroco.
In the early afternoon, work resumes at 2:30 pm, with the theme “Social Support”, moderated by Paula Santos, professor at the School of Technology and Management of Lamego, and which will feature interventions by Ana Melo, Marta Marques, Maria de Fátima Santos, Vítor Oliveira, José Oliveira, Rui Ruas and Renata Miranda.
The event will end with the theme “Studies and Investigations”, moderated by João Hipólito, a full professor with a doctorate in medicine and psychology. The speakers on this panel are Ana Vianez, Rute Brites and Maria Vieira.
In addition to the debate and sharing of clinical and social experiences and practices, the 3rd Conference on Medical, Psychological and Social Support will also include various exhibition spaces.
