The concert that celebrated the 35 years of José da Câmara’s career was held yesterday on the esplanade of the Fado Museum, a late afternoon to remember for all who attended.

José da Câmara celebrates 35 years of his career and in the concert, he performed at the Fado Museum, he recalled his journey since childhood, with a recording made by his father, Vicente da Câmara, passing through his first professional participation in the theatre magazine, edition of the first disc up to the songs of “Estrela-Guia“.

His first album is from 1988, the self-titled “José da Câmara”, in 1989 he participated in the shows “Fado é Vida” and “Um Dia no Alentejo“, both organized by Gonçalo da Câmara Pereira.

Velha Cantiga“, his second album is from 1991, which affirmed him in fado, also participates in one of the greatest fado shows “100 Anos do Fado”, with António Pinto Basto, João Braga, Carlos Zel and Manuel de Almeida.

In 1993, he released “Tradição“, an album that paid tribute not only to his father, Vicente da Câmara but also to his great-aunt Maria Teresa de Noronha, another great name in fado.

Um Nome – Duas Gerações” is the name of the album he released in 1999 with his father and in the following year he edits “Noitadas“, 2010 he sings themes by Roberto Carlos on the album “Emoções” and in 2014 he releases the album “Até Sempre Sr. Fado“.

His last album is “Estrelas-Guia”, and it was through this vast and rich path that José da Câmara guided us this evening at the Fado Museum, which featured Luís Petisca on Portuguese guitar, Armando Figueiredo on fado guitar and Manel Vaz da Silva on bass guitar.
