José Mário Branco is one of the biggest names in Portuguese music and one of the symbols of the 25th of April, and his words and music were returned to Porto by the talented JP Simões.
The April 25 celebrations begin on the evening of April 23, with a very special concert by JP Simões at the Coliseu do Porto, a tribute to José Mário Branco, one of the most notable figures in Portuguese music, who left us in 2019.
JP Simões sings José Mário Branco is the title of the album that the singer and composer released in 2024, and which includes songs such as“Do que um homem e capaz”, “Sopram ventos adversos”, “Mariazinha” or “Mudam-se os tempos, mudam-se as vontades“, and which came to life in the Porto stage.
JP Simões was joined on stage by Nuno Ferreira on guitar, Ruca Rebordão on percussion and Pedro Pinto on double bass.
