KALEO, the Icelandic band, was once again in Portugal to perform on their own at Sagres Campo Pequeno, as part of the “Payback Tour” where they presented the songs from Surface Sounds.
The KALEO from Reykjavík returned to Portugal this time on their own, with JJ Julius Son on vocals, guitar, and piano, Rubin Pollock on lead guitar, Daniel Kristjansson on bass, and David Antonsson on drums, were welcomed by a nearly full venue, which vibrated and sang along with them from start to finish.
KALEO is known for their powerful and emotional performances, with the distinctive voice of Jökull Júlíusson, their music blends elements of blues, rock, and folk, creating a unique and captivating sound.
The band has performed all over the world, at concerts in the best venues and festivals, with their fanbase growing with each performance.
The album A/B gained global recognition with a platinum certification in 2016, driven by the single “Way Down We Go,” which achieved double platinum, the song “All The Pretty Girls,” which earned gold, and “No Good,” which received a GRAMMY® nomination for “Best Rock Performance.”
Kaleo has maintained its momentum with Surface Sounds from 2021, returning to the charts with “I Want More” and “Break My Baby.” Their music has been featured in the soundtracks of various films and television series, in Marvel productions like LOGAN and hit series like Grey’s Anatomy and Riverdale, as well as appearances on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Good Morning America, among others.

Juníus Meyvant opens the concert in Lisbon
The first part of the concert was handled by Juníus Meyvant, an Icelandic singer-songwriter known for his unique blend of indie folk, psychedelic rock, and experimental music.
His songs explore themes of love, loss, and the passage of time, “Color Decay Neon Experience,” “Signals,” “Until the Last Minute,” and “Love Child,” are some of his most well-known songs. Meyvant gained international recognition for his distinctive style and captivating live performances and was very well received by the audience.
