Grammy Award-winning artist Kali Uchis has just started a new era of music sung in Spanish with a new song, “Muñekita”, featuring Dominican rapper El Alfa and JT of City Girls. More Spanish music from Uchis will be revealed soon.
“I love bringing unexpected artists together,” says Uchis. “El Alfa is a Latin legend and JT is conquering everything and everyone as a solo artist. They’re both known for their summer hits and their energy, so I’m incredibly excited to bring them together in a fun and sexy song like this.”
The trio came together for “Muñekita” after a long mutual admiration – Kali exchanged several messages with the two artists before JT went to his studio in Los Angeles, listened to the song, and recorded a verse. Shortly after, Kali showed a new version of the theme to El Alfa, who enthusiastically added to his contribution.
In September, Uchis will start the second part of the “Red Moon In Venus” tour. The new dates celebrate Uchis’ album, “Red Moon In Venus,” released to critical acclaim in March and featured on multiple Best of 2023 So Far lists by Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Complex, The Washington Post, Variety, Billboard, among other media. The album – which became her first Top 10 album after debuting at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart – includes the single “Moonlight” and collaborations with Summer Walker, Don Toliver, and Omar Apollo.
