Frederico Morais finished in 17th place at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, the 4th stage of the world circuit that takes place on the beach in Bells Beach, Australia.
Kikas lost in round 3 to the North American, Jake Marshall, who scored 12.73 points higher than the Portuguese’s 11.17 points.
The surfer from Cascais even had the best wave of the heat with 6.67 points, but was unable to find a second wave that would give him enough points to win.
Frederico Morais will have a decisive stage in Margaret River, also in Australia, where he will decide whether to continue on the Championship Tour.
The only Portuguese athlete in the world surfing elite is obliged to achieve a good result that allows him to stay above the cut-off line in the ranking, which is 22nd place and is currently in 25th.
The next stage takes place from April 11th to 21st in Margaret River, Australia.
