Pedro Lima, with the short “Amor à Beira Mar”, was the winner in the +19 years fiction category, while “Rasteira”, by Tiago Cerveira, was the favorite short in the +19 years documentary category.
In the category 16-18 years, Gabriel Pinho and Luís Almeida won with the short “Bring it Back” and Rosa Ramos won in the category 12-15 years, with “Inspiration”.
Cash prizes are awarded in all categories, with 500 euros for each of the categories +19 years (documentary and fiction), 250 euros for the 16-18 year old category, and 150 euros for the 12-15 year old category.
The Novas Vistas Lumière contest, with scientific coordination by Jorge Seabra, is a competition of very short films from the Mar Film Festival, inspired by the Lumiére brothers’ films, made at the beginning of cinematographic art.
Keeping the characteristics of the Lumière Views, all works lasting up to two minutes, in one plane, in black and white, without sound, without physical or optical, fictional, documentary movements, or with both records, are admitted to the competition, produced in the previous year or in the year in which the Mar Film Festival is held.
