The German band Kraftwerk, formed in 1970, returns to Portugal in the summer for a concert at the CoolJazz festival in Cascais on July 31, the organization announced today.
“Great name for the cult of the electronic world”, the Kraftwerk presented on July 31 at the Hippodrome Manuel Possolo a 3D show, “composing a unique musical and visual experience,” according to the organization of the festival EDP CoolJazz, in a statement today.
Founded in the 1970s, the German group stood out for the innovative use of computers in music production, becoming a source of inspiration for generations of musicians in various genres, from electro to hip hop and ‘techno’ to ‘synthpop’.
The Kraftwerk – which remains one of the original members, Ralf Hütter – have already performed 3D shows at the Coliseum in Lisbon, at the Casa da Música in Oporto, both in 2015, and at the Neopop festival in Viana do Castelo in 2017.
CoolJazz’s poster for this year includes, among others, The Roots, Jessie J, Tom Jones, and Jamie Cullum.
