Kriol Kings present their biggest hits at the Super Bock Arena

November 30th in PortoAfter concerts abroad, in Lisbon, and at the MEO Suodeste Festival, it is now Djodje and Nelson Freitas’ turn to present the Kriol Kings project in the city of Porto.

The two Cape Verdean artists, one of the most acclaimed in Lusophony, promise a concert full of hits, with the presentation of their biggest hits and special guests over almost 2 hours of performance.

Kriol Kings is the result of the meeting of two of the biggest names in music in the Portuguese-speaking world: Djodje and Nelson Freitas. Today it is difficult to talk about this music that comes from Lusophony to the whole world without mentioning the contribution made by Nelson Freitas, with his marriage between Cape Verdean zouk and R&B. Themes such as “Miúda Linda”, “Bo Tem Mel” or “Break of Dawn”, with Richie Campbell, are sweeping hits. The Cape Verdean Djodje is another of the names that left Cape Verde for the world, conquering a vast legion of fans thanks to songs like “Não Vai”, “Dói Demais”, “Vamos Fugir”, with Cuca Roseta, or “A Fila Anda”, with Jimmy P. The meeting of these two names could only result in an unmissable concert, full of hits and truly contagious African rhythms. This luxury duo performs on November 30th in Porto, at the Super Bock Arena – Pavilhão Rosa Mota.

DJODJE

Djodje is a Cape Verdean singer and songwriter based in Portugal. With almost 20 years of career, he started singing at the age of 12 and currently has 3 albums and several successful singles. Today he is one of the biggest stars of the Portuguese-speaking world, with more than 150 million views on YouTube and more than 300,000 followers on social networks. “Não Vai”, “Dói Demais”, “Vamos Fugir”, with Cuca Roseta, or “A Fila Anda”, with Jimmy P are some of the themes that helped him conquer a vast legion of fans around the world.
Internationally awarded, Djodje owns a soft and strong voice that overflows with emotion and makes you want to dance to the rhythm of Kizomba and AfroPop.

NELSON FREITAS

The grandson of a generation of Cape Verdeans who left for Holland, Nelson Freitas got used to the studio environment from an early age, alongside his uncle, with whom he maintained a close relationship. In 2006 he released his first solo album “Magic” which sold more than 70,000 copies worldwide. This was followed by “My Life” in 2010 and “Elevate” in 2013, from which one of his biggest hits, “Bô Tem Mel” is taken. The year 2016 was a milestone in Nelson Freitas’ career, with the release of the album “Four”, which went straight to the top of the national sales charts. “Miúda Linda” is one of the singles taken from this album. In 2019, the artist released the mixtape “Semper Verão”, which includes one of the biggest hits of his career, “Set Me Alight”. During the confinement period, the musician continued to work on new music, and, in 2021, he released his most recent album, “Dpos d’ Quarentena”, which features the collaboration of names such as Dino D’Santiago, Rony Fuego, Julinho KSD, Tabanka Djazz, June Freedom and Neyna.
Nelson Freitas thus continues a unique trajectory and the success surrounding his songs continues to increase.
