About Gardênia Benrós:
Gardénia Benrós is a renowned Cape Verdean singer, recognised for her unique voice and for promoting Cape Verdean musical culture. She was born on the island of São Vicente and demonstrated artistic talent from a young age, dedicating herself to traditional music and its cultural roots. Throughout her career, Gardênia has captivated national and international audiences, standing out for her performances of genres such as morna, coladeira, and funaná.
Besides being a singer, she is also a composer and cultural activist, committed to preserving and promoting Cape Verdean musical heritage.
About the project “Kriolo Sounds – Each Note, One Story”:
“Kriolo Sounds – Each Note, One Story” is a CCCV musical project that aims to support artists from Cape Verde and other CPLP countries and introduce the public to the music of these countries. Each month, an artist performs an intimate performance for a small audience.
The artist does not receive a fee, but the admission fee paid by the public is given directly to them, without the intermediation or intervention of any representation agency.
Participation in “Kriolo Sounds” is by invitation from the CCCV sent directly to the artist or through the artist’s request to the CCCV.
