Lagoa < Nininho Vaz Maia takes FATACIL to the edge

Lagoa vibrated tonight with the energy of Nininho Vaz Maia at FATACIL 2025! A packed house, gypsy rhythms at their best, and a show that had the audience singing and dancing from start to finish. A breathtaking concert that marked this edition of the Algarve’s largest fair!

“E Agora,” “Gostava de Te Ver,” “Quero Que Saibas,” “Vou Ficar,” “Sei Que Vais Voltar,” among others, were the stars of the party that Nininho Vaz Maia brought to Lagoa. He is a Portuguese singer and composer who has become a popular music phenomenon in Portugal.

His music, deeply rooted in gypsy culture, blends fado, flamenco, pop, and hip-hop.

Born in Rio Maior, Nininho Vaz Maia is a self-taught artist, having learned to play the guitar and sing on his own. Her rise to fame was fueled by social media, where she began sharing homemade videos of herself singing and playing the guitar, which quickly went viral. Her authenticity and ability to blend her traditional style with contemporary sounds won her a wide audience.

Her lyrics address everyday themes, love, longing, and life in the Roma community, creating a strong connection with her audience. Her husky, emotional voice is one of her most distinctive features.
