In this summer of 2021, the municipality of Lagos presents a unique, diversified cultural program adapted to the reality of the pandemic. “Drive-In Cinema” and “Lagos Nights Out” return for their second edition, with the new initiative “Summer Concerts”. HMB, Aurea, Fernando Daniel, Katia Guerreiro, and Blaya will be the highlights of this summer in Lacobrigense, where your safety is the most important for you to enjoy the events in peace.
In order to dynamize one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic, but also to encourage the population in this troubled period, the municipality of Lagos is preparing several quality cultural activities. Similar to what has been done all over the world, where culture is gradually coming to life, most of the initiatives will take place outdoors, and, in the case of shows, the seats will be seated and with due physical distance and in specially prepared taking into account the current situation. All cultural events will follow a strict contingency plan, approved by the General Directorate of Health, in order to make access safer and in compliance with the norms resulting from the pandemic crisis.
The Arte Doce Contest Fair and the Bath Festival 29 were postponed to 2022, but the lacobrigense municipality will mark the respective dates symbolically with concerts by national artists HMB (29/07), Aurea (30/07), Fernando Daniel ( 31/07) and Katia Guerreiro (01/08) at Parque de Feiras (next to the Municipal Stadium of Lagos), at 9 pm, and Blaya (29/08), in location to be confirmed. Tickets will cost €5 and can be purchased at the reception of the Centro Cultural de Lagos or through Ticketline.
The “Drive In Lagos” is also back, at the Rossio da Trindade Games Field, between August 17th and 26th, with films that will please the whole family. “Bem Bom” (17/08), “Captain Sabretooth and the Magic Diamond” (19/08), “Women to Power” (24/08) and “Listen” (26/08) are the films chosen for will be full of strong emotions. Access with vehicles is free, subject to mandatory prior registration in a form to be released shortly.
Integrated in the Algarve’s cultural network programming project, Bezaranha, “Lagos Nights Out – Nights at the Pier” returns to dazzle at Cais das Descobertas on 3, 4 and 5 September with the Jazzie Trio (Paulo Ribeiro, Pedro Glória and Pedro Guerreiro), Marta Alves with Nuno Feist and Guilherme Banza and the Almatriz group.
The Lagos Cultural Center will also continue to boost its activity, with the exhibitions “Cada Conta, Conta”, by Ana Canto, “Cápsula do Tempo”, by the Portuguese Serigraphy Center (patents from 09/08 to 09/10) and “2020 see is believe”, by Paulo Figueiras (patent from 02/08 to 24/09) and the shows “Meus Monstros Marinhos”, by Dancenema (06/08), and “Visto en el Jueves”, with the renowned artist of flamenco Rócio Márquez” (07/08). The performances of “Lá fora, Ó inside – Música no Pátio” will take place throughout July and August: Lolirockers (21/07), Zé Portugal (04/08), Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve (11/08) and Orfélia ( 8/25).
