The municipality of Lagos is one of the institutional partners of the Algarve Regional Architecture Award instituted by the Algarve Section of the Ordem dos Arquitetos.
The support, translated into the attribution of a subsidy in the amount of two thousand euros, is intended to share the monetary prizes, as well as the program associated with this initiative, which includes exhibitions, conferences and public presentations, seen as relevant for the promotion of region.
The initiative, which is in its first edition, aims to promote and encourage architectural quality, the dignification of the urban image and the enhancement of safeguarding the Algarve’s heritage. The award will be annual and will reward the architects who created a work built in the Algarve, public or private, that stands out for its architectural and constructive quality.
The awarded works will be publicly announced at the Annual Regional Architecture Award Award Ceremony, to be held on World Architecture Day, which is marked in October.
