‘Lapso’ vence Festival Fuso de Videoarte
In addition to the EDP Foundation/Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) Acquisition Award, in the amount of 2,500 euros, an honorable mention was also given to the artists Helena Winter, Verónica Castro and Bouchra Ouizguen, for the video “Transhumance”.
The Ar.Co Incentive Award, the result of public voting, was awarded to Tânia Dinis for her work “Passagem”.
“Lapse” is described as the space of doubt and the time in which the boundaries that separate the body’s interior and exterior collapse.
As for “Transhumance”, by Helena Winter, Verónica Castro and Bouchra Ouizguen, which starts from a system of transdisciplinary action in a nomadic body, joins lexicons, co-habits research, shares paths – forming a meeting point between three artists immersed in their current practices, where dance, sound and moving image converge. “Passagem”, by Tânia Dinis, is a film-essay about “what is beyond memory.
The 13th edition of the Fuso de Videoart Festival, which ended on Sunday with the revelation of the ‘open call’ winners, exhibited 44 works and held conversations around the theme “On the border”, with free admission to the gardens and cloisters of museums in the capital.
This year, the jury of the festival, which started on August 25th, was composed by Margarida Chantre, Isabel Nogueira, Irit Batsry, Susana de Sousa Dias and Welket Bungué.
