Largest yacht in the world is being built to remove plastic from the seas
Norwegian oil millionaire is behind the project, due to be launched in 2021.
An oil tycoon is investing in the construction of what will be the largest yacht research and removal of plastic from the oceans, with the capacity to collect about five tons of plastic a day, which will then be recycled.
The Norwegian Kjell Inge Røkke, the owner of almost 67% of the Aker ASA oil group, began life as a fisherman and believes that this is the way to help the planet.
The ship, in addition to the clean-up function of the seas, will also carry on board a research team, trained to study the oceans and new sustainable ways to protect them.
You can follow the evolutions of the project in its official page and the profile of Facebook dedicated to it.
