“Lava” is Elisa Rodrigues’ new single

on the day she releases the EP “Até ao Sol”

On the day she releases the EP À ao Sol, Elisa Rodrigues presents Lava, a song of heartbreak that is “an ode to anger, as an ultra-necessary emotion”. Guided by a raw yet sharp arrangement, the song exalts this emotion that women, much more than men, were taught to hold back.

The structure is gained with the prominence of the drums and trombones, peppered by a spoken word interlude by Mia Tomé. According to the author, sometimes “only anger can align what needs to be aligned, clean what needs to be cleaned” therefore, it should not be hidden, but celebrated.

In addition to “Lava“, the EP features the previously released “Amor Perfeito”, “Sonhar”, in a duet with Rita Onofre and “Sem Medo”, a collaboration with Joana Alegre. To these is added the unprecedented “Tanto”, a “mother’s song” left for posterity in the first record of originals after the birth of the child and which more mothers will probably feel as their own.

Luís Figueiredo, the author of the arrangement of the Eurovision-winning song “Amar Pelos Dois”, was the producer of “Até ao Sol”, a partnership that Elisa Rodrigues believes caused a “before and after” in her music. This is the first edition entirely in Portuguese by the singer who collaborated with These New Puritans and who now seeks to explore and experiment with a new path that, in her words, may not be “visceral”, but is a “deconstruction” in that sense, maintaining connections to his career in jazz and bossa nova.

Using a good dose of escapism, it is in nature that he will perform the concert to introduce the new short film. Under the skies of the Planetarium, the artist has prepared for next Friday, September 29th, at 9:30 pm, a concert that will not just be a concert. It will be a private universe, far from the city without leaving it.

This bubble of beauty and music that promises to involve the public in an unusual audiovisual experience will feature Joana Alegre and Rita Onofre as special guests. Tickets are on sale at Ticketline and at the usual locations.
