Leiria receives Women’s League Cup final between Sporting and Benfica
After receiving the final four of the Men’s League Cup, it is the women’s event that steps back onto Dr. Magalhães Pessoa’s lawn, in a match scheduled for 18:00 this Wednesday.
Benfica defends the title won in January, in the inaugural edition of the competition, which it reached, already in January, when it beat Sporting de Braga, winner of the last championship concluded, in 2018/19, by 3-0, in Aveiro.
Sporting reached the League Cup final after defeating Sporting de Braga 2-1 in the semi-finals and Condeixa 4-1 in the quarter-finals, while Benfica secured access to the decisive game by beating the Famalicão, 3-0, after debuting in the competition with a 2-0 victory against Clube Albergaria.
This competition is disputed by the top four after the first round of each of the two series of the Women’s League.
