Lenine presents “Rizoma” at Casino Estoril
Lenine debuts next Thursday, November 24th, at 9.30 pm, in the Salão Preto e Prata at Casino Estoril. The Brazilian artist takes the stage to star in the new show “Rizoma”.
According to the postmodern philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, “rhizome” is the possibility of opening thought, which refers to the expansion of the roots of a plant. Narratives are not chronological or continuous – they are interrupted and open in multiple directions, creating new connection points in a story.
No wonder Lenine and Bruno Giorgi (son of the Pernambuco singer-songwriter and acclaimed sound engineer) used the concept as inspiration to name their new tour, which brings father and son to the stage.
“Rizoma”, in this case, the concert, serves as a platform for the duo to share versions with the public that help to show the artistic side of both, forming a diverse web of musical paths.
On stage, Lenine takes over the microphone and guitar, while Bruno alternates between bass, mandolin, keyboards, voice and sampler. The public can expect a musical overview of the artist’s history from Pernambuco.
