Leon Bridges is part of a tradition of great soul voices that have the power to win the hearts of the Portuguese public.
A voice that moves through territories such as jazz and r&b, without ever failing to surprise, as in his latest album, “Gold-Diggers Sound”, released in 2021. This latest record now takes him on a tour that includes Portugal, where an audience is waiting to hear these new songs live.
The artist, nominated for a Grammy in the categories of Best R&B Album and Best R&B Performance, will perform on July 12 at Coliseu do Porto.
Leon Bridges is one of the strongest names in new soul music. Since his debut album with “Coming Home”, released in 2015, the American musician has not stopped evolving, surprising everyone with each new release. Several things remain, however: the soft and charming voice, the courage to sing what brings within his chest, the highly collaborative spirit that has already made him share the studio with names like Diplo, Lucky Daye, Kacey Musgraves, Noah Cyrus, John Mayer, Shawn Mendes, Anderson .Paak, Terrace Martin, The Avalanches, among many others. After his highly promising debut with “Coming Home”, he released his second album, “Good Thing”, in 2018, where he once again appeared in great shape, introducing the world to such strong themes as “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand“, “Bad Bad News” and “Beyond“.
In the latest work, “Gold-Diggers Sound”, released in July 2021, the public is invited to enter a place where r&r, jazz, soul, afrobeat, among other influences, seem to coexist amicably, in a personal register in which the voice of Leon is the protagonist. The American musician’s proposal is based on a vast soul and r&b tradition, without ever failing to look to the future. Themes such as “Sweeter” and “Motorbike” are expected by the Portuguese public, at the concert scheduled for July 12, at Coliseu do Porto.
