Director of photography Leonardo Simões and actor Albano Jerónimo were awarded at the Dublin International Film Festival.
Leonardo Simões, cinematographer, received the award for Best Cinematography, with Pedro Costa‘s film “Vitalina Varela” in Dublin.
The Portuguese film “Vitalina Varela“, already won awards such as Best Actress and Best Photography at the International Cinephile Society Awards, Best Actress for Boccalino d’Oro Award, Golden Leopard and the Leopard for the Best Female Performance at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, among others.
“Vitalina Varela” is a film about a 55-year-old Cape Verdean woman who arrives in Portugal three days after her husband’s funeral.
Albano Jerónimo, protagonist in the film “A Herdade“, stood out with the award for Best Actor, in Dublin.
“A Herdade” is an award-winning Portuguese film by Tiago Guedes, the film represented Portugal at the Oscars being one of the nominees for the Best Foreign Film award, also won the Bisato d’Oro award for Best Director at the Venice Film Festival in 2019, among others.
“A Herdade” is the chronicle of a Portuguese family that owns one of the largest properties in Europe, on the south bank of the Tejo River.
