Leonor Teles’s first feature film in two festivals
The film “Terra Franca”, the first feature film by Leonor Teles, was awarded in two more international festivals, in Argentina and France, in ceremonies that took place on Friday and Saturday.
In a statement, the producer Uma Pedra no Sapato says that the film received on Saturday the Best First Prize of the International Competition at the 33rd edition of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival (Argentina). The day before, he was honoured with the Prix de la Ville d’Amiens at the 38th International Festival du Film d’Amiens in France.
The film has received several awards such as the SCAM International Award at the Cinema du Réel Festival, the Special Mention at the FIDADOC – Agadir International Documentary Festival and the Special Mention at the Les Rencontres Cinematographiques de Cerbère-Portbou.
“Terra Franca”, which portrays the life of a fisherman living in a fishing community on the banks of the Tagus, arrives at the Portuguese movie theatres on January 10.
Leonor Teles won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 2016 for the short film “Ballad of A Batráquio”.
