Contrary to the consumerist trend, of pure impulse and of great impact for the Planet, promoted by Black Friday, LEROY MERLIN’s Green Week appears as an alternative and a call for more sustainable and responsible consumption.
We are not highlighting products to sell at a discount: we want to contribute to responsible consumption, so we invited activists, influencers and other experts to get us all thinking about how we can help the Planet and make our daily lives ‘greener‘ .
For all those who want to contribute directly to help make this Friday more Green and less Black, we also launched our initiative Walking for the Planet to get everyone moving and contribute to a more positive Habitat. Whether walking, jogging, cycling, or plogging, the entire movement will turn into donations to rehabilitate homes sustainably, in partnership with Just a Change.
Just download the UPNDO app to your smartphone, associate the code “GREEN” and start moving. In the application, the contribution corresponding to the movement is always visible, and at the end, just choose the project to support. With our Green Week, the goal is for everyone to earn, not everyone to spend. There is no Planet B, that’s why we need everyone’s help, to counter the excessive consumption of Black Friday and defend green, sustainable and responsible consumption.
We count on everyone, and we assume commitments: LEROY MERLIN will make a calculation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) directly related to the realization of Green Week in these seven days and all these emissions will be compensated, contributing to this form for the commitment to carbon neutrality provided for in the Glasgow Climate Pact. The entire process of calculating and offsetting GHG Emissions will be subject to independent external audits.
