Les Roches Marbella shows its most supportive side in the Covid-19 crisis

Les Roches Marbella, a socially responsible institution, joins different solidarity initiatives to help with the health and social crisis caused by Covid-19.

That is why I donated 50,000 liters of bottled water to hotels that have received health teams, hotels converted into homes and food trucks, ensuring that patients and doctors have access to free bottled water for at least a month. This initiative is part of the solidarity crowdfunding campaign # AguaparaHospitalesCOVID19, launched by AUARA, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of projects for access to drinking water, which distributes water bottles to health professionals and patients in field hospitals and “medicalized” hotels in many provinces in Spain.
Any citizen can participate via the web here.

The hotels and organizations that will receive the water donated by Les Roches Marbella are Ayre Hotel Colón (converted into a hospital and managed by Hospital Gregorio Marañón), Hotel Room Mate Mario, Hotel Room Mate Óscar, Hotel Room Mate Laura, Hotel Room Mate Macarena, Hotel Ilunion Suites (medicalized), Gastrea Truck, Hotel Room Mate Emma, Hotel Atrium (converted into a hospital) and Hotel I and the food truck company Gatrea Trucks, https://es-la.facebook.com/gastreatrucks/, you will also receive AUARA water donated by Les Roches Marbella so that they can distribute it with the free food and drinks they offer to health professionals during their work shifts.

Les Roches Marbella also wanted to help with another crucial need, communication between hospital patients and their families. For this reason, it joined the www.donatuenergia.org foundation by donating dozens of USB chargers to ensure that patients hospitalized with coronavirus can communicate with their families during isolation.

Red Cross, a very special commitment

Les Roches Marbella has collaborated closely with the Red Cross since 2014 in different campaigns for donating blood, clothes and shoes, and supporting the “A la Intemperie” program that takes care of homeless people, through food donations made by students and through economic donations. In February 2017, the school received the Bronze Medal from this entity, an acknowledgment that the provincial committees of the Red Cross grant to individuals or institutions that stood out for their solidarity with the institution.

In this case, and due to the clear need and the increase of people who need help now with this health crisis, les Roches increased the donation of weekly menus for the most disadvantaged (homeless, needy families and food bank), going from 80 for the current 240.

Les Roches, classified as one of the three best schools of hotel management in the world, has maintained a firm commitment to education and solidary values and carries out several actions in this area – social actions, voluntary services, donations – that benefit the community.

Les Roches Marbella also collaborates with other local and regional associations such as AECC (Asociación Española Contra El Cáncer/Spanish Association Against Cancer, AMUM (Association of University Women in Marbella), Marbella-San Pedro Multiple Sclerosis Association, Caritas Marbella, Concordia, association DEBRA-PIEL DE MARIPOSA, Fundación Harena, Música con Encanto, Proyecto Hombre or Triple, among others.
