Lewis OfMan is one of the most famous names in the new French electronic music scene.
Born in Paris in 1997, he started making music on his parents’ iPad, which he discovered when he was only 11 years old. Despite his age, he quickly learned the intricacies of GarageBand, Apple’s free app for composing and producing music, and soon began exploring electronic beats and synthesised melodies.
In 2022, after already releasing three EPs — Disconsolate (2014), Yo Bene (2017) and Dancy Party (2021) —, Lewis OfMan released Sonic Poems, his debut album, establishing himself as one of the most talked-about names in the new wave of producers of dance music. According to PAPER Magazine, the Parisian artist was “one of the rising stars of the year, with a very unique synth-pop identity: upbeat, fun, and complex, while remaining accessible to a wider audience.” That same year, he collaborated with Carly Rae Jepsen on “Move Me,” a disco track punctuated by funk elements, from the bass to the acoustic percussion, and guided from beginning to end by a galloping and danceable piano.
Two years later, OfMan took his influence even further with a new album full of collaborations. Cristal Medium Blue, released in February 2024, features guests such as Empress Of, Gabriela Richardson, Camila Jansen, and Alaska Reid, reinforcing the French musician’s status as one of the most relevant names in current dance music.
After appearing at festivals such as Coachella, Bilbao BBK Live, All Points East, and even MIL in Lisbon—where he performed in 2022—Lewis OfMan now returns to Portugal for his solo debut. The reunion is scheduled for May 8th at 8 PM at Lisboa Ao Vivo.
