Liam Payne begins an exciting new chapter in his journey, announcing his return with the release of his long-awaited single “Teardrops”.
The instant anthem “Teardrops,” which references the rhythmic pop of the late 1990s and early 2000s, is about the first heartbreak within a relationship. Written with Jamie Scott and JC Chasez (NSYNC), Liam says of the single: “‘Teardrops’ is about the vulnerability of heartbreak and the challenge of moving past those moments. This song marks the beginning of a new beginning, there is much more to come in 2024.”
Having spent the past year in the studio, Liam has been working closely with long-time collaborator Jamie Scott, describing it as a “year-long process of self-reflection”. With more songs and more announcements to come, 2024 is going to be a big year for Liam Payne.
A multi-platinum recording artist, Liam has sold more than 23 million singles and more than three million albums as a solo artist since One Direction. The singer released his first solo album, LP1, in December 2019, which included the highly successful singles “Strip That Down”, “Polaroid” and “Familiar”. He released his latest single, “Sunshine”, in 2021, which has over 5 billion streams.
