MEO Surf League – Frederico Morais will compete in the Allianz Figueira Pro

The Allianz Figueira Pro, the inaugural stage of the MEO Surf League 2025, the 1st division of Portuguese surfing, is scheduled to start on Friday, March 28, and will feature the illustrious presence of Frederico Morais.

With vast international experience, after several stints on the World Surf League circuit, and with three national titles under his belt, “Kikas” is back in action in the main national surfing competition, with the competitive lineup for the inaugural stage already known.

Frederico Morais, national champion in 2020, 2015 and 2013 and a competitor on the world circuit between 2017 and 2024

“It’s great to be able to return to the MEO Surf League. It’s a circuit that has a very high level and that will push me and be in my best shape, at a time when I’m in the process of recovering from an ankle injury. It’s a good way to start warming up my engines for the international competitions, after having had my first approach to the competition in Peniche, after being sidelined by injury for three months. I hope to feel more confident in my foot and I’m very happy to be back competing on home soil with all the fans watching. I go into this stage with an open mind. I want to test and push my foot, without a specific outcome in mind, to be 110 per cent when the Challenger Series circuit starts. My goal for this year is to requalify for the world tour and I feel like I will be able to do so.”

After competing for the last time in the MEO Surf League in 2023, Frederico now returns to the best national surfing, just a few months after suffering a serious injury to his right ankle. Something that makes the Allianz Figueira Pro the ideal stage for “Kikas” to be able to favourably improve his physical condition, while at the same time facing the other big names in national surfing. This is a wave that leaves him with good memories, as he was the winner of this stage in 2020.

In addition to Frederico Morais, Guilherme Ribeiro and Teresa Bonvalot, reigning national champions, will also be competing, wearing the yellow Go Chill jersey.
