Rapper, singer, and songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia, Lil Nas X are already dubbed as “an internationally recognized phenomenon” by Billboard magazine.
It was in 2019 that he was catapulted to international fame with the release of “Old Town Road”, which would become a turning point in the music industry – shattering gender conceptions and norms, topping the charts, and becoming went viral all over the world. The Billy Ray Cyrus remix of the song became the longest-running #1 in Billboard Hot 100 history with 19 consecutive weeks at the top of the chart. As if that weren’t enough, it was also awarded 16x Platinum and is the most certified song in RIAA history with two GRAMMYs® won.
After his eclectic EP 7, with the singles “Panini” (6x Platinum) and “Rodeo” (2x Platinum), came the hit that changed the cultural landscape in March 2021. “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)“, the queer anthem that sparked much-needed dialogue around the world, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 1 and stayed captive at the likes of Spotify’s Global Chart for over a month. In September of that same year, his debut album, Montero, was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2022 GRAMMYs® and highly acclaimed by critics.
