Liniker is the new confirmation at the Festival Jardins do Marquês

Jardins do Marquês in Oeiras

The Festival Jardins do Marquês – Oeiras Valley is back for another edition that promises to enliven a series of nights in the gardens of the Palace Marquês de Pombal in Oeiras.

The festival with the most charm of the Portuguese summer is committed to the quality of its programming, with renowned artists and others who guarantee the present and future of music… The confirmations for the night of June 30th confirm that the festival is committed to the best music of the moment, with two names that prove all the vitality of Brazilian music: Liniker performs in Jardins do Marquês with a first part in charge of Bala Escolha with guests in his Bala Baile Show.

Liniker is one of the main revelations of Brazilian music. Born in Araraquara, in the interior of São Paulo, she has always been interested in the arts, immersing herself in the music around her, such as the samba circles attended by her mother and uncle. It wasn’t long before Liniker revealed her talent. The artist and the band Caramelows, with Renata Éssis (backing vocals), Marja Lenski (percussion), Rafael Barone (bass), William Zaharanszki (guitar), Péricles Zuanon (drums), Fernando TRZ (keyboards), Graziella Pizani (trumpet) and Eder Araújo (saxophone), have conquered Brazil in recent years, with numerous performances and themes that put Liniker’s name on the map of the most interesting and original music today.

After the success of the first EP, “Cru“, the artist and the band Caramelows released “Remonta“, the debut album that revealed all of Liniker’s artistic capacity, chameleonic, and always inspired. MPB, a lot of soul, and references ranging from Tim Maia to the most improbable Latin ballads, including the inevitable Ney Matogrosso, made that first record a real event.

Liniker’s second album with Caramelows, “Goela Below”, released in 2019, met the best expectations left by its predecessor. Produced by bassist Rafael Barone, this record conquered the public and the critic’s thanks to songs like “Lava” or “Calmô”. In 2021 Liniker released his first solo album. “Indigo Borboleta Anil” has the participation of two orchestras, Milton Nascimento, Tássia Reis, among other names. The album had three nominations for the 2022 Latin Grammy, making Liniker the most nominated Brazilian artist in that edition of the award. This new phenomenon of Brazilian music will be passing through Portugal, on the 30th of June, in this year’s edition of the Jardins do Marquês festival.

Bala Desire is the name given to the event meeting of musicians from Rio de Janeiro Dora Morelenbaum, Júlia Mestre, Lucas Nunes, and Zé Ibarra. Friends since school, the four began to draw attention after some participation in thematic lives on Instagram by singer Teresa Cristina.

This movement culminated in the release of the group’s debut album, entitled “Sim Sim Sim”. In 2020, each of the musicians followed a different path in their respective music careers. Each member experienced their own solitude and creative process during the period of isolation.

When they decided to live together, the residence became synonymous with immersion, resulting in a sound that is nostalgic in the public’s imagination, but avant-garde in the packaged proposal… The realization of Bala Desejo as a group came from the invitation of the Coala Festival for the 2021 edition, later postponed due to the pandemic.

With the impossibility of the event, the idea of recording an album came up. “Sim Sim Sim” conquered the public and the critics thanks to songs like “Baile de Máscara (recarnaval)” and “Lambe Lambe”. And this “recarnival” will also be experienced in the middle of Jardins do Marquês, on June 30th, in the first part of Liniker’s concert. Bala Desejo returns to Portugal and presents his Bala Baile Show. In this format, the group reinforces its invitation to the celebration and brings guests to an unmissable party.

Always confirm with the concert hall or promoter the conditions of access, confirmation of the date or time, tickets place of sale, price, and availability.
