He is currently a jury for American Idol USA and continues to step onto the stage with “Hello! Tour'”. On the July 24th, Lionel Richie has a date with EDPCOOLJAZZ for an unforgettable concert, where the audience will embark on a unique journey through its repertoire.
The artist was born in Alabama in 1949, he began his solo career shortly after college, preferring to pursue the musical arts rather than his degree at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. In 1968, he became a member of the band Commodores as vocalist and saxophonist and were born themes such as “Easy”, “Three Times a Lady”, “Still” and “Sail On”. In 1982, Lionel Richie released his first solo album, which included songs such as “You Are” and “My Love”. In 1984, the artist releases the Can’t Slow Down album which includes one of the artist’s biggest hits, “Hello”. Over the years, Richie has continued to produce music, creating anthems that continue to be part of music culture.
The night of July 24th will be a landmark on the line up of the 17th edition of EDPCOOLJAZZ, hosting one of the greatest legends of North American culture, at Hipódromo Manuel Possolo, in Cascais.
