The American singer-songwriter, who quickly rose to prominence on the pop scene, was a major star on the first day of NOS Alive, with an intense, energetic show that captivated the festival audience from the very first moment.
He opened the show with “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else” and immediately showed his true colours, with successive trips to the front of the stage, climbs to the top of the piano, and even a front somersault, he was unstoppable on stage.

As we journeyed through his songs, we heard “I Wanna Be the One You Call” and “Drunk in My Mind.” He jumped off the stage and into the pit with his fans, much to the delight of the audience. He continued with “There She Goes,” “Slow It Down,” “Mr. Electric Blue,” “Mystical Magical,” “Man in Me,” “In the Stars,” “Take Me Home,” and “Pretty Slowly.”
Born in Monroe, Washington, in 2002, he initially gained attention on social media, particularly TikTok, before briefly competing on American Idol in 2021 (where he eventually voluntarily retired). His music career was boosted when he was discovered and signed to Night Street Records, the label owned by Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons.
Benson Boone is primarily known for his pop-rock and contemporary pop style, with a strong emphasis on emotional ballads. He possesses a distinctive, strong voice with the ability to convey raw emotion. His songs explore themes of love, heartbreak, vulnerability, and personal experiences, resonating with a young audience.

Although he has rock elements, his music is very melodic and accessible. He cites artists such as Billy Joel, Adele, and Queen as his influences.
His worldwide hit “Beautiful Things” (2024) is an example of his ability to combine an explosive chorus with heartfelt lyrics, becoming a global hit and reaching the top of several charts.
But the festival schedule is tough, and Benson closed with “Young American Heart,” “Cry,” and “Beautiful Things.” It was with great sadness that we didn’t hear more songs from this fantastic artist.
