Amyl and the Sniffers is an Australian punk rock band from Melbourne, formed in 2016. They showcased their raw energy, uncompromising attitude, and explosive live performance on the Heineken Stage at NOS Alive, led by charismatic vocalist Amy Taylor.
They performed “Security,” “Balaclava Lover Boogie,” “Doing in Me Head,” “Do It Do It,” “Chewing Gum,” “Guided by Angels,” “Big Dreams,” “Some Mutts (Can’t Be Muzzled),” “Control,” “Got You,” “Freaks to the Front,” “Starfire 500,” “Knifey,” “Me and The Girls,” “Jerkin’,” “Tiny Bikini,” “U Should Not Be Doing That,” and “Hertz” from their albums Cartoon Darkness, Comfort to Me, Amyl and the Sniffers, and Big Attraction.

Amyl and the Sniffers’ sound is a powerful and direct blend that harkens back to their punk and garage rock roots. Fast rhythms, distorted guitars, straightforward lyrics, and a DIY attitude combine to create a sound rooted in Australian barroom rock—raw, sweaty, and meant to be played loud and energetic.
Elements of basic rock, without excessive polish, with a raw energy. At times, they incorporate a touch of theatricality and brazen attitude, but with a dirtier, less polished aesthetic than traditional glam rock.

Amy Taylor’s lyrics are observational, dealing with everyday life, anger, freedom, desire, and the realities of life, delivered with unparalleled urgency and charisma.
The band’s lineup consists of Amy Taylor on lead vocals, Bryce Wilson on drums, Declan Mehrtens on guitar, and Gus Romer on bass.
