Lisboa na Rua starts on August 13

This year the set of initiatives will not have large stages or shows for thousands of people and, even outdoors, the entire program takes place in spaces with limited capacity, safety distances, masks and hygiene.

Lisboa na Rua kicks off on August 13 with the Political Festival, at Cinema São Jorge, in a four-day program that includes debates, films, performances, music and humor, with the environment and climate change as the central theme, in the year that Lisbon is the European Green Capital.

This year, this initiative will focus on a country for the first time, with Brazil being chosen to be highlighted in several moments of the program.

The centenary of the birth of Amália Rodrigues is marked by a cycle of open-air cinema, in the garden of the Palácio Pimenta – Lisbon Museum, recalling the career of the fado singer as an actress in four films, from 3 to 6 September.

Cinema no Estendal will take place on the 4th and 5th of September in a place yet to be designated, with the exhibition of national and international short films in the neighborhoods and squares of Lisbon.

Lisboa na Rua also marks the birthday of Jorge Palma, with the concert “70 voltas ao sol – Jorge Palma“, which has Cristina Branco and Dead Combo as guests, on September 12, with online transmission.

On September 6, 13, 20 and 27, in the gardens of the Pimenta Palace – Lisbon Museum and in the Baldaya Palace, at 5:30 pm, the City Dance takes place, during which participants can experience dances of various styles, outdoors and solo.

Inflatable art installations, by British artists Filthy Luker & Pedro Estrellas, will be on trees in Lisbon, located in Saldanha, Avenida da Liberdade, Restauradores, Rossio and Cais do Sodré, from August 29 to September 29.

From August 25 to 30, Lisboa Mágica takes place in various gardens throughout the city, a festival of street magic, and the street and circus festival Chapéus na Rua takes place in Arroios, between 18 and 20 September.

The Lisbon Soa sound art festival this year awarded six artistic creation grants for sound works that will be exhibited in various locations in the city, from 24 to 27 September.
