The Editory Riverside Lisboa Hotel at Santa Apolónia has just opened its doors in a bid to return to the history of the Portuguese railway and its immense legacy of regional connection.
Editory Riverside Santa Apolónia Hotel aims to stand out for its hospitality. Decorated with old suitcases, photographs of stations, by the Catalan artist Jordi Llorella, and vintage cameras, everything in this five-star hotel reminds you of travelling alone, as a couple or with your family, with the train as the departure and arrival point.
Where the Refer offices used to be, there are 126 rooms, well decorated, refined, with 11 different types and decorations, at the Lisbon train station. Both on the first and second floors, you can see the entrance and exit of trains from the station, highlighting the Rosacea suite, which reveals the train line. The Master Suite has a fabulous view over the Tagus.
But also the delicacies served by the kitchen are noteworthy, a regional menu, prepared with seasonal products and served with Portuguese wines, open kitchen reminiscent of a ticket office and with windows to the station itself. In the centre of the room, the bar, open until two in the morning invites you to order cocktails from the menu.
The inauguration was attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Rita Baptista Marques and the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas.
