Lisbon Oceanarium reopens to the public

After almost two months of closure to the public as a result of the pandemic situation, the Lisbon Oceanarium reopens doors to receive all visitors, to see and discover the wonders of the ocean, with the implementation of new security measures in response to the demands that the current context imposes due to covid-19.

Among the measures implemented, the number of visitors to be reduced at the same time, frequent cleaning of spaces, reinforcement of disinfectant gel dispensers for use by visitors and payment of tickets exclusively by automatic means are noteworthy.

All exhibitions are open and with measures to ensure the necessary distance, allowing the public to return to “dive” in the large central aquarium, visit the “Submerged Forests” and discover the magic of the installation “ONE – the sea like never before. “, which debuted earlier this year.

Taking as a priority the well-being and safety of all visitors, employees and animals it maintains, Oceanário de Lisboa intends to continue its mission of “promoting knowledge of the ocean and contributing to its conservation”, the institution said in a statement.

In addition to the exhibitions open to all visitors, the Oceanário develops educational activities, collaborates in scientific research projects and in the conservation of marine biodiversity that promote the sustainable development of the ocean.

Together with the Oceano Azul Foundation, the Oceanário de Lisboa has the mission of promoting knowledge of the ocean, raising awareness for its conservation through changing behaviors.
