Lorene Bazolo breaks national record and reaches minimum for the Olympic Games
This Tuesday, Sporting’s Lorene Bazolo beat the national record of the 100 meters and obtained minimums for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, by registering 11.15 seconds in the Iberian Athletics Cup, in Playas de Castellón (Spain).
The 38-year-old sprinter took two-hundredths of her own national record (11.17), also set in Spain (Salamanca), last June 5th.
Portugal now has the following athletes with minimums: Lorene Bazolo (100 meters), Pedro Pichardo, Patrícia Mamona and Evelise Veiga (triple), Francisco Belo and Auriol Dongmo (weight), Liliana Cá (disc), Cátia Azevedo (400 meters). ), Ana Cabecinha (20 km march) and Lorene Bazolo (100 meters).
João Vieira (50 km march), Salomé Rocha, Catarina Ribeiro and Sara Moreira (marathon) are already selected, while Nelson Évora, Tiago Pereira (triple), Marta Pen (1,500 meters) and Irina Rodrigues (disc) are within the quota of recap.
