Lorène Bazolo was eliminated this morning in the first round of the 100 meters of the Olympic Games, finishing fourth in the fourth series of the qualifiers, with 11.31 seconds.

The 38-year-old Portuguese athlete needed one of the top three places in the series or one of the best three times among the unqualified directly to move on to the next stage, which she didn’t get.

The national record holder (11.15 seconds) was the first Portuguese to compete in athletics events in Tokyo and will also participate, on Monday, in the 200 meters qualifiers.
