Louvre Michaelense wins architecture prize Paulo Gouveia
The work called ‘Rehabilitation: Louvre Michaelense’, in Ponta Delgada, by the architect Paulo Vieitas, won the Paulo Gouveia architecture prize.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he jury for this public architecture competition is composed by an architect representing the Regional Directorate for Culture, a guest by the Regional Directorate for Culture, an architect representing the Azores Delegation – Southern Regional Section of the Portuguese Architects Association, an architect representing the Association of Municipalities of the Autonomous Region of the Azores and a representative of the Association of Construction and Public Works Companies of the Azores.
The Paulo Gouveia Architecture Award was created in 2014, considering the importance of encouraging and dignifying the quality of architecture and construction, in the rehabilitation of properties that significantly contribute to the enhancement and/or safeguarding of the architectural heritage of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
