Another edition of Montepio À Vezes o Amor has ended, the first major festival of the year! Rooms filled from north to south of the country celebrated Valentine’s Day to the sound of great songs by the greatest national artists.
The biggest edition ever of Montepio À Vezes o Amor was made up of big surprises and many premieres.
GNR, Dead Combo, Carolina Deslandes, Black Mamba, The band from the film Variações, Viviane sings Piaf, Marco Rodrigues and the Brazilian duo AnaVitória, were names that debuted at the festival, thus joining with repeated consecrated as Jorge Palma, Mafalda Veiga, Luísa Sobral, Tiago Bettencourt, Aurea, Amor Electro and João Pedro Pais.
But the surprises did not end there. For the first time, the festival opened doors to exclusive and limited concerts in charismatic spaces: the duo AnaVitória, who also represents the debut of a Brazilian artist at the festival, performed at the Clube de Fado, in Lisbon, a totally acoustic concert, celebrated in the light of candles.
In Porto, it was the Palacete Silva Monteiro – Casa do Vinho Verde, one of the most luxurious palaces of the 19th century, which received Luísa Sobral for a special solo concert celebrating St. Valentine.
GNR prepared a special line-up for the two nights of Porto and Lisbon Coliseum, a night of travel where classic and iconic themes like Dunas, Video Maria, Popless and Effectively were not lacking.
More than 350 people involved in the production of this great festival of music and emotions, among artists, musicians and professionals, who together with a vibrant and passionate audience, helped build the success of this 6th edition of the Montepio Festival Sometimes Love.
