Luca Argel in Póvoa de Varzim, Santarém, Óbidos and Barcelos
A year after the publication of Sabina, Luca Argel continues to bring to the stage the story of the mythical greengrocer who sold oranges in Rio de Janeiro in the 19th century. The Portuguese-Brazilian singer-songwriter will visit Póvoa de Varzim, Santarém, Óbidos and Barcelos over the next month.
UPCOMING DATES:
30 MAR – PÓVOA DE VARZIM, CINE-THEATER GARRETT
12 APR – SANTARÉM, THEATRO SÁ DA BANDEIRA
13 APR – ÓBIDOS, THERMOMETER FESTIVAL
23 APR – BARCELOS, THEATRO GIL VICENTE
Sabina is another journey through time at the invitation of Luca Argel, following the trail of a mysterious character. Nothing is known about her life, other than what happened in the space of a few days, when she suddenly became a symbol of freedom, only to disappear and return as a legend. And like every legend, her story reveals a lot about our own nature and the gears that move our society.
The show combines electrified Afro-Brazilian sounds, which wink at rock, funk and, of course, samba, which Luca Argel and his band had already turned inside out in the acclaimed album and show ‘Samba de Guerrilha’. Equally full of poetry and messages, Sabina’s concert is, however, the most solar and danceable that the Portuguese-Brazilian singer-songwriter has conceived to date. Words and sounds are praise and spells, food for the body and mind.
Always confirm with the concert hall or promoter the conditions of access, confirmation of the date or time, ticket place of sale, price, and availability.
