After GNR’s rock-pop, Luís Trigacheiro continued on the third day of the 2025 Crato Festival.
The Alentejo singer, who rose to prominence after his appearance and subsequent victory on The Voice Portugal in 2021, invited festival-goers into his home, with a stage appropriately decorated to resemble an Alentejo home.
In a highly intimate and traditional setting, which already reflected the show’s character, Trigacheiro brought to the stage his distinctive Alentejo identity, marked by his deep voice and heartfelt performance. The contrasts between the instruments accompanying the songs created an atmosphere that transported the audience to the roots of cante and to a sound that combines tradition with the languages of contemporary popular music.
“Rosa Pequenina” was the song chosen to open the concert. This traditional theme immediately evokes the roots of Alentejo cante and served as a calling card for Luís Trigacheiro’s artistic identity.
Throughout the show, the singer alternated between styles, from songs with a more cante-like sound to others closer to fado, such as “Fada Madrinha.” The setlist alternated between songs from his two albums: Fado Do Meu Cante (2022) and Ela (2024).
As a good host, Trigacheiro welcomed some special guests to his “home.” After singing the title track of his first album, he opened the doors to welcome Buba Espinho, with whom he shared “Tu na Tua” and “Rosa Albardeira.” It was during the song “Menina Você Está na Janela,” still with Buba on stage, that the second guest arrived. Diogo Piçarra was greeted with loud applause from the Crato audience, who were treated to a new collaboration between the singer and Luís Trigacheiro, “Porta 43.” The two artists also announced that they will be performing together in Porto on September 14th.
After singing several more songs from his discography, such as “Quem me Vê” and “Meu Nome é Saudade,” the singer who won The Voice Portugal in 2021 closed his show with the same song that made him turn all four chairs in the competition, “As Mondadeiras.”
Luís Trigacheiro once again demonstrated that tradition can reinvent itself without losing its authenticity, bidding farewell to Crato with the same warm welcome with which he opened the doors of his home to the thousands of festival-goers.
