Lukas Graham, the hitmaker “7 Years” and three-time GRAMMY® nominated Danish pop star, is back with “Cheat Code”, his first release since “4 (The Pink Album)” last year.
“Cheat Code” presents a new, but also nostalgic sound, and is the first single from a new album that will be released worldwide by Universal Music Group.
The new single was written by American songwriter Autumn Rowe and Dutch producer Kizzo, who was most recently known for their work with Jon Batiste on the Grammy-winning album “We Are”. Both the songwriter and producer have worked with artists such as Usher, Dua Lipa, Jason Derulo and Ava Max.
The vocals for “Cheat Code” were recorded in front of a live audience at Copenhagen’s legendary VEGA during an eight-night artist residency earlier this year.
In the production of the new album, Lukas Graham also spent eight consecutive nights at the famous Danish venue, VEGA, inviting fans to participate in the studio recordings live on stage! These unique and intimate events – also known as “The Recording Experience” – led to several recordings that will be heard on the next songs on the new album.
The release of “Cheat Code” comes a year after his most honest work to date: “4 (The Pink Album)”, which was followed by sold-out tours across Europe, the United Kingdom and the USA. Lukas Graham became one of the first 25 artists to join Spotify’s Billions Club with the smash hit “7 Years”, which began the remarkable story of a song that paved the way for a Danish pop star who continues to shine.
Lukas Graham will headline the Galp Stage at the Rock in Rio Lisboa festival on June 16th.
