Macau to use land to build park with reused tires

Macau will transform four unused lands, measuring around 19,000 square meters, into parks whose main element will be made using tires, it was announced today.

The land in question is located in the center of the island of Taipa and the objective, without a defined date, is to promote environmental conservation, through recycled tires that are not degrading and that looks good, proceeding with cleaning, disinfection, removal of various objects, polishing and perforating the bottom of the tires to prevent water accumulation.

With about 30 square kilometers and close to 690 thousand inhabitants, Macau, which received almost 40 million visitors in 2019, has few green and leisure spaces for the population.

The Government of Macau has promised over the years to increase these spaces available to the population.
