Having a baby is just the beginning… Being a mother is for life.
Ricardo Neves-Neves stages the Portuguese version of the great Broadway hit, MÃES (Mothers), by Sue Fabisch. The musical starring Ana Cloe, Gabriela Barros, Raquel Tillo and Tânia Alves premieres on March 14th at Teatro Villaret.
Henrique Dias is responsible for translating and adapting the text and also the songs in partnership with Miguel Viterbo. The musical director is in charge of Artur Guimarães.
Three mothers and a pregnant woman together at a baby shower share the experiences, visions, challenges and pleasures of motherhood. A hilarious and tender musical where we learn about the powerful friendship of four women: a first-time mother, an ambitious lawyer constantly juggling career and home life, a recently divorced woman trying to balance family life, work and her recent separation and a full-time mother… of five children.
MÃES is a journey that is both fun and affectionate on a rollercoaster of emotions, laughter and lots of laundry.
*The Ajuda de Mãe is a Social Solidarity Association, IPSS with public utility and non-profit status.
